    How it works

    How the schema generator works

    1. 1

      Prefill or type

Search your business to import name, address, phone, website, coordinates and opening hours from Google, or fill the fields yourself.

    2. 2

      Pick the precise type

Choose from 45+ schema.org LocalBusiness subtypes (Dentist, Plumber, Restaurant, HairSalon…). The more specific, the better search engines understand you.

    3. 3

      Copy the JSON-LD

The preview updates live. Copy the script tag, download it, then validate it with Google’s Rich Results Test or the Schema.org validator.

    Why the exact subtype matters

Every subtype (Dentist, Plumber, HairSalon…) inherits everything from LocalBusiness, so nothing is lost by being specific — but a lot is gained. The type tells Google and AI assistants what kind of business the page is about without having to infer it from text, and it lines up with the primary category on your Google Business Profile. When the two agree, the entity behind your website and your map listing is easier to merge into one.

Keep NAP identical to your Google profile

Name, address and phone are the fields search engines use to match this markup with your Google Business Profile and every directory listing. Copy them exactly — the same suite number format, the same abbreviations, the same phone number — and update the markup whenever the profile changes. Consistency here is a trust signal; small mismatches are noise.

Schema Generator — questions we get asked

Where do I paste the schema markup? +

Inside the <head> (or before </body>) of the page that represents your business — usually the homepage or contact page. Our guide covers WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Shopify and Webflow.

Which schema type should I use? +

The most specific LocalBusiness subtype that describes your core service. If none fits, use LocalBusiness itself.

Does schema markup improve local rankings? +

Indirectly. It removes ambiguity about who you are and where you operate, supports NAP consistency and can unlock rich results — all of which help Google and AI assistants trust your business.

Is the schema generator free? +

Yes. Everything runs in your browser; only the optional Google prefill calls our free API.
